Election Day Blues is a downloadable read-aloud play that takes a look at the value of taking a risk.
Jade Matthews doesn't have much confidence in her chances of winning a race for student council president. Her opponent, Martin Foster, has poured a lot of money into his campaign and appears to be winning votes by passing out small specialty items printed with his campaign slogan. Not having the money to do the same, Jade becomes discouraged and considers dropping out of the race.
The dialogue is humorous but brings up serious issues. The play includes discussion and writing activities. 16 roles.
